Instead Of Trying To Sell You –
We Want To Partner With You
If you’ve ever invited a Sarasota area remodeling company to your home for an estimate, you’ve likely been disappointed with the experience. Instead of asking you questions to better understand your needs, they come on strong with a sales pitch.
And while you’re attempting to explain precisely what you want, they’re busy calculating how they can land the sale. They’re more interested in what the car in your driveway says about your income than they are about your needs.
Well, at Gilbert Design Build, we handle things differently and put our focus on YOU instead of your wallet.
A Spectacular Showroom
To begin, we invite you to the design center located in our showroom. That way you can take a good look at what we have to offer. There, you can see the quality of our work, explore ideas for achieving your remodeling goal, and even view some of our exquisite custom-made fixtures.
Instead of sitting in your home hoping that what we tell you is true, you are surrounded by evidence of our expertise.
And if you aren’t sure what you want, examples of popular solutions are just a short walk from your chair.
A Detailed Interview
While other companies are concerned only with what you want – we like to dig deeper. We try to learn why you want it, how you plan to use the space, and even why you don’t like the space you have now.
We’ll also ask where your comfort zone is regarding your project budget. After all, it doesn’t do anyone any good if we recommend a solution that sits outside that comfort zone. Our job is to take what you want and find a way to make it happen – not force you into a remodel that makes you uncomfortable.
We also discuss deadlines with you to ensure we can give you what you want within your timeline.
The next step is to outline our design-build process, which is different from your average remodel. We directly employ everyone involved in the design process, from the architects to the designers and project managers.
We also keep you directly involved in the design process as an active collaborator. We welcome your input at every step and won’t order a thing until you’ve signed off on every bit of material and each product in your design.
This initial visit takes a good amount of time, but we feel it’s best to iron out everything before we take the next step.
Education Before Sales
The thoroughness of our first visit serves a dual purpose – to fully understand your needs and arm you with enough information to make an informed decision.
If that turns into a new project for us – great. If not – also great. Selling the job is secondary to ensuring that we are a good fit for your needs.
Sometimes, homeowners want to act as their own builders, which doesn’t work with the design-build process. Sometimes, the timeline doesn’t mesh with our open schedule. And sometimes, a potential client wants to only halfway fix their problems, which we can’t in good conscience agree to do.
We hate losing a chance to improve another person’s life, but it’s better to know before we start than halfway through.
Either way, sale or no sale, we’ve achieved our goal of giving you as much information as possible. If we have to part ways before we begin – no hard feelings.
