Master Bath and Guest Bath Modernization

Project Cost: Over $120,000

Location: Palmer Ranch, FL

The Steins came to us looking for a fresh, modern update to both their master and guest bathrooms. The guest bath felt old and outdated, and although some updates had been made to the master by the previous owner, it didn’t quite fit their style or practical needs.

When they first moved in, the guest bathroom had a bathtub. While they weren’t “bath people,” they decided they could live with it for a while, thanks to the shower in their master bathroom.

The master itself was larger than anything they’d had before, but it had mirrors covering the walls above the vanity up to the ceiling, which felt overwhelming. They also needed more storage space.

The Tipping Point

The tipping point came when their grown daughter moved back home, and they had to replace the guest bathroom’s toilet.

That’s when they decided it was time to fully remodel both bathrooms. Since their daughter would be using the guest bath, they wanted her input on the design and product choices—especially because she would one day inherit the home.

Collaboration From the Start

From the first phone call with Cindi to their meeting with Ernest at our design center, the Steins felt confident they’d found the right fit.

During the design process, Katie, their designer, worked closely with them to bring their vision to life. They were particularly impressed with her design knowledge and how the color drawings helped them clearly visualize the final result.

According to them, the finished product matched exactly what they saw in the drawings.

Communication Is Key

Open communication was important to the Steins—they wanted a partner they could trust, not someone who would disappear after starting the project.

Although there was a slight delay in the start due to materials, our Construction Manager, Jarrod, kept in touch with them. Since they were going to be traveling, they considered postponing the remodel until they returned, but Jarrod was able to start the project earlier by coordinating with their daughter, which made them feel comfortable moving forward.

Their Project Manager, Michael, also played a big role in easing their minds while they were away, making their daughter feel comfortable throughout the process.

They mentioned that all the tradespeople were professional and respectful, leaving the worksite clean each day—a detail they really appreciated.

The guest bathroom remodel began with removing the tub and replacing it with a walk-in shower, which was a game changer for them. The only regret they had was not opting for thicker glass on the shower doors like in the master bath.

In the master bath, we completely transformed the space, taking it down to the studs and removing the old cabinets, floor tiles, and light fixtures. We reframed the wall where the medicine cabinet once was, added a comfortable shower bench, and created two custom niches. We also updated the electrical layout and installed new outlets, fans, and lighting to perfectly fit their needs.

For fixtures, the Steins selected elegant Moen Eva faucets and a Moen Engage six-function shower head with a convenient handheld option. We also installed a Kohler Cimarron Elongated chair-height toilet, topped with a Kohler PureWash bidet seat for an extra touch of comfort and luxury.

The custom cabinetry they chose featured Woodharbor frameless designs with a sleek Stockman/Madison bevel in Sand Dollar enamel. We topped the vanity with stunning Pompeii Quartz in white sand, which we also carried into the shower curb, bench seat, and niche shelves for a beautifully cohesive look. Brushed satin nickel pulls from Top Knobs’ Lydia collection were the perfect finishing touch, tying together both bathrooms with a modern, polished feel.

For the flooring, the Steins selected timeless antique wood-look matte porcelain tile in clay, complemented by Ristretto matte porcelain tiles in sand beige for the shower floor.
From start to finish, the Steins were thrilled with how their bathrooms turned out and felt the entire process was seamless. It was rewarding to see their vision come to life, and we’re grateful to have been part of transforming their forever home.
