Founded in 1978, the Top 500 competition recognizes some of the nation's largest and most successful remodeling firms for outstanding design and construction based on annual revenue.

Business Observer's annual list of the largest companies in the region by revenue is a must-read for Florida business leaders, and Gilbert Design Build was recognized as one of the Top 500 most successful and fastest-growing companies on the Gulf Coast in 2019. Every year the Business Observer spends seven months researching companies on the Gulf Coast to rank the top 500 companies from Tampa to Naples by their gross revenues. Gilbert Design Build ranked 496th on the Gulf Coast's most comprehensive list.
Hanley Wood – the premier information, media, event, and strategic marketing services company of the residential, commercial design and construction industry – announced the 2019 Remodeling 550 List, and Gilbert Design Build is among it. This annual ranking of the largest full-service remodeling/replacement contractor firms and leading insurance restoration/franchise operations awarded 157th place to Gilbert Design Build for elevated revenues while actively creating a better workplace by improving things like company benefits. This is a testament to the encouraging environment GDB has created for over 20 years, reflected in our high employee satisfaction and the success and loyalty of clients seen throughout the years.

The Gilbert Design Build team was very fortunate to participate in several community events around Sarasota in 2019. A favorite event of ours each year is the "Fill the School Backpack" event for the Boy's and Girl's clubs of Sarasota-Manatee. Our team contributed school supplies to the drive and helped filled backpacks for deserving students in our community.
In addition to working with the Boy's and Girl's club, we were also able to contribute to the Play for P.I.N.K. Golf Tournament- a fantastic event to raise funds and awareness for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, and donate toys to Toys for Tots, which distributes toys to children whose parents cannot afford to buy them gifts for Christmas.
As part of our commitment to bring our client's vision into reality, our team attends several industry shows and continuing education programs each year. Ernest, owner of Gilbert Design Build, is committed to education: "Working with a variety of clients and bringing their vision to reality is the source of our happiness because every project is different in many interesting and wonderful ways, bringing us unique challenges to craft and bring into fruition. Attending various design-build remodeling events throughout the year allows us to really get into the mindset of our homeowners, aligning our interests as everyone works on the same goal- from introductions through design to construction and completion".
In addition to attending the International Builders Show, the home building industry's largest event, our team attended events with Remodeler's Advantage, an organization that promotes sharing successes and challenges with other design-build remodeling companies across the country. Participating in peer groups with other members of our industry allows our team to learn from one another and offer better services for our clients.
